Not sure what Internet Bandwidth speed you signed up for? Not sure how fast your surfing experience actually is? There are ways to check up on your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Here are some quick steps you can take to make sure you not only surf at Internet speeds you are supposed to, but that you get the actual speed you signed up for with your Internet Service Provider.
Instructions
1. Go to your computer and open up the Internet as usual. Wait a few minutes until your home web page is fully loaded, if needed.
2. Enter or cut and paste into your web browser the site: http://www.2wire.com/bandwidth/meter.php?kbps=4236.7
3. Hit your enter key on the keyboard and watch the speed appear. It will be towards the middle of your screen and should appear in less than one minute. The speed will be listed in green.
4. Look for a minimum of 720Kbps up to 3Mbps. If Internet speed listed on your screen is less than that, please contact your Internet Service Provider immediately. The number should be on your bill.
5. Repeat steps two through five if the speed does not appear or stalls. If that does not help, run the test in a different web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

A Chapter 13 bankruptcy will not affect a Title IV applicant's eligibility. The U.S. Constitution empowered Congress to create bankruptcy laws that protected the honest but unfortunate debtor. Punishing debtors who seek protection under the bankruptcy code would undermine that public policy interest. Accordingly, bankruptcy, of itself, will not disqualify a student from receiving Title IV funds. However, failing to pay student loans will.
Instructions
1. Title IV allows students to work part-time to pay for school.
Review your options. Title IV encompasses multiple types of federal student loans, work study programs and student aid grants. Title IV makes this aid available regardless of whether an applicant has filed for bankruptcy. Students who obtain federal student loans must realize that, once school ends, they will generally have to repay every dime borrowed. Work study programs allow students to work part-time earning money to pay for school tuition, room and board. Grants are one of the Title IV's most attractive options. Unlike students who take out loans, students who receive grants do not have to pay the money back. And, unlike students using work study programs, student using grants do not have to work a part-time job to obtain their funds.
2. Some Title IV programs require post-graduation commitments.
Identify your chosen program's requirements. Every Title IV program has its own special qualifications. Federal Pell grants, for example, qualify recipients based upon their financial need. Decision makers consider tuition costs and the applicant's financial situation. Other grants, such as the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education grant considers eligibility on whether the applicant intends to pursue a teaching career and agrees, in writing, to teach full-time for one year in a high-need subject or area. Title IV programs, such as the Direct Plus Loans, consider the applicant's parent's credit. Title IV decision makers may not use an applicant's bankruptcy filing to disqualify her for student aid.
3. FAFSA is the first Title IV hurdle.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Department of Education uses information disclosed in the FAFSA to determine the applicant's Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Your learning institution then uses that EFC to ascertain which Title IV programs you qualify for. FAFSA has its own eligibility requirements. Criminal activity, unpaid student loans debt, improper use of student aid funds, no GED or high school diploma or failing to meet certain citizenship requirements are just a few of the things that could keep a student from successfully submitting the FAFSA.
4. Missed Chapter 13 payments can harm Title IV eligibility.
Maintain Chapter 13 payments. Chapter 13 bankruptcy allows debtors who have gotten behind on their financial obligations to get caught up on those debts without having to lose any of their property. Debtors get caught up on their arrears via a three- to five-year payment plan called a Chapter 13 plan. A Chapter 13 debtor can pay student loans through a Chapter 13 plan. Missing a plan payment can result in the bankruptcy court converting the case to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy or dismissing the case entirely. For those seeking Title IV funds, missing a student loan payment could mean becoming ineligible.

Prospective students who are interested in pursuing a career in secretarial or administrative fields have the option of majoring in business or another subject area related to the industry they would like to work in.
Community Colleges
The recession begun in 2007 brought many unemployed workers back to school. In order to meet the increased numbers of students local community colleges have embraced the distance learning format. College administrators also realized with increased family obligations, students may not have the time to attend a class in the traditional format. The SAT II subject tests require strict preparation.
Many colleges now require that students include scores from a variety of SAT II subject tests with their applications. Unlike the SAT I, which measures scholastic aptitude, the SAT II tests the knowledge a student has gained over three to four years of high school. Because of the nature of these exams, students should begin preparing themselves early for the SAT II to maximize their chances of obtaining the score they desire, making their applications more competitive.
Instructions
1. Pick your subject areas. The College Board, which administers both the SAT I and SAT II, offers twenty different subject tests in the areas of English, history, math, science, and languages. When choosing your subject tests, consider not only your academic strengths but also the major you may wish to pursue in college. Be sure to check with the schools to which you are applying to see how many subject tests they require; three is the norm, but this number may vary from school to school.
2. Review your class notes. Because the SAT II tests accumulated knowledge, review your notes from the relevant courses. If you have problems with any of the concepts, talk to your teachers after class. In most cases, they should have an understanding of the basic concepts tested on the SAT II.
3. Get outside help. The SAT II is a standardized test, which means that there are certain rules that govern it and do not change from one test to the next. Because of this, books offered by test preparation companies such as Kaplan or the Princeton Review can be helpful in reviewing the basic terms and concepts that show up on the exams. These companies also have branches in most major cities and often offer private tutoring for the SAT II subject tests. If you cannot afford the test preparation they offer or if there is no branch near you, check at the local university to see if there are students in particular majors who can tutor you for a lower fee.
4. Take a practice test. The College Board website offers several practice questions. However, taking a full-length practice test can help you get into the mindset you will have to have on test day, allowing you to build your stamina as well as familiarizing yourself with the test format. These tests can be found in review books, such as those offered by test preparation companies.
5. Register for the exam. As soon as you know when you want to take the exam, register online at the College Board website as spaces can fill up early!

Physician's assistants practice medicine under the supervision of medical doctor. Working in a broad range of specialties and delivering various services to patients, physician assistants diagnose and treat illness, conduct exams, assist surgeons, counsel patients, prescribe medication and order and interpret tests, according to the American Academy of Physician Assistants. They find employment in private practices, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other facilities in the medical field. In certain rural areas with few doctors, physician assistants are primary providers for routine matters.
Basic Education
Physician assistants take a 26-month course, which includes instruction in medical and behavioral sciences in both the classroom and laboratory. However, those applying to a physician assistant program must already have a minimum of two years of college credits and some experience in the health care field. The majority of applicants have bachelor's degrees and many have earned a master's degree. Most accredited physician assistant programs are affiliated with medical schools, allied health centers or four-year colleges. Students do clinical rotations in various specialties, including emergency, internal and family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and gerontology. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 142 institutions offering physician assistant training in 2008.
Continuing Education
Physician assistants must take continuing education classes and undergo regular tests on clinical skills. Postgraduate study is also available. To retain certification, physician's assistants must complete 100 hours of continuing education in a two-year cycle. Every six years, they must also pass a re-certification test. In some instances, an alternative re-examination program may be used, which combines practical experience and a test done at home.
Licensing and Certification
Physician assistants must be licensed by the state in which they practice and must pass a national exam. To obtain licensing, they must pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination. Once this exam is passed, the person may use the title of certified physician assistant.

Help children express themselves with drama activities.
Introducing children and teenagers to drama activities has important benefits for their ability to appreciate dramatic theater, and it encourages them to express themselves. The following drama activities can be edited to fit any age range of students. They will help students learn to think on their feet, articulate and give speeches.
Improv
Gathering students together for an improvisational game teaches them to react spontaneously. The Encyclopedia of Improv Games has dozens of games that students enjoy depending on their age range. For instance, elementary school students can easily understand what the Alphabet Game requires them to do. Improv Encyclopedia recommends that a group of students construct a "scene consisting of 26 lines of dialog." A student begins the game by starting a line with a word that begins with the letter A. The next student begins their line with a word starting with B, etc. The important benefit of this game is that students learn to construct a play rapidly by brainstorming aloud with classmates.
Vocal Exercises
Bring students' awareness to their voices by getting them to to do tongue twisters. According to Arizona State University Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, tongue twisters and tongue and lip warm-ups help improve diction skills. Students can try doing sets of repetitive rhyming words to warm up their voices. For instance, have them say "ma, may, me, mo, moo" several times. You can also have them repeat the words articulate and enunciate to encourage them to project to the back of the room. The skills they gain from doing vocal exercises helps them prepare for long speaking projects including monologues and presentations.
Prepared Scenes
Have students do monologues or a scene with a partner. They should memorize the scene and prepare to deliver it in front of the class. Ideal monologues for high school girls include Juliet and Anne Frank. Both plays have scenes that include boys, which means that they could present the scenes with a partner. Performing a scene or monologue prepares students to overcome their fear of being in front of the class. They learn skills that later help them give speeches in college and on the job. Coach them with positive advice by encouraging them to react to each other, and make sure not to give them negative criticism that might make their stage fright worsen.

1. Brainstorm about what you might want to write about in your college admissions essay. The topic of your essay should be meaningful to you and it should show the college admissions officers something important about your personality or your life to date. Choose an event, accomplishment, relationship, or anything else that has been important to you at some point. The subject of your essay does not have to be a major life-changing event; it should be something that genuinely means something to you and can help the admissions officers to understand who you are.
2. Write an outline for your essay. Depending on how you tend to write essays, you might want to write a quick outline of your essay. Sometimes an outline can help you to compose your thoughts and figure out how your essay will be structured.
3. Write the first draft of your essay. Spend an adequate amount of time on your first draft but remember that it is a draft. It does not have to be perfect initially. Be sure to adhere to any requirements that are set forth in the college applications with regard to length.
4. Edit your essay. This is potentially the most important step in your college essay-writing process. Aside from being free from spelling and grammatical errors, your essay must "sound" genuine and realistic. It will be evident to admissions officers if you exaggerate so be honest when you recount the events or feelings you have experienced. Ask friends and family to read your essay and take their critiques into serious consideration. The essay should represent you well. Friends and family members can often offer a different perspective on your writing than your own perspective.
5. Submit the essay. After your essay is written, edited, and ready to submit, include it with your college application. Wait for your college acceptance letters to start rolling in!

The informative essay is one of the most challenging of all writing assignments. You essentially take on the role of teacher/expert for a general audience that, you have to assume, is unfamiliar with your topic or thesis. This puts a lot of pressure on you to be both informative and interesting. All you have to do, however, is plan out your essay and structure it in a certain way that entails less stress for you and more enjoyment and satisfaction when writing it.
Instructions
1. Decide on a topic that you think is important and that your readers could benefit from knowing more about. The example we'll use is eating disorders.
2. Write down a tentative thesis statement. What is it that you want to share with your readers? Don't obsess about it too much at this stage, as you will likely have to revise your thesis somewhat as you conduct your research and write the actual essay. Just try to write down something specific and (hopefully) interesting.
Such as, eating disorders lead to a large number of preventable deaths.
3. Draft an outline listing all the questions you have about your topic, all the things you think you know about it, and any personal experiences or observations you may have. For instance: How many people suffer from eating disorders? How many are men and how many are women? What age group suffers from them the most? What's the most common eating disorder?
4. Research your topic online and in the library. Find authoritative, credible sources. To learn more about eating disorders, you could go to the National Health Information Center and National Eating Disorders Association. You could also interview doctors and people who have personally suffered from these disorders.
5. Write your essay. Begin the opening paragraph with a hook to lure the reader's interest. Use this paragraph to provide a lead-in to the topic and some general context for the issue to be discussed. One possible hook that might work for our example: Anorexia is the leading killer of teenage girls.
6. Use the body of your essay to inform your reader about the specifics of your topic. Provide interesting details that they likely don't already know, or present common knowledge in a new light.
7. Conclude your essay by summarizing the knowledge you've shared. Don't bring up any new information or raise too many questions. This paragraph is meant to bring closure to the essay while maintaining your reader's interest in the topic.

A lawyer is a legal professional. Lawyers work in many different legal fields. They may represent someone in court accused of a crime, draft a legally binding employment contract or help someone negotiate a difficult divorce. To become a lawyer you must graduate from college, attend law school and pass the bar exam. You must also demonstrate certain skills.
College
Those who intend to apply to law school can major in any subject they choose. Many law school officials recommend that students major in a subject that helps them sharpen skills that they will use as a practicing lawyer, such as philosophy, to help students understand arguments, or English, to help them understand read texts closely. In order to apply for law school students must take the LSAT or Law School Admission Test. This tests a student's knowledge of subjects such as logic, math and vocabulary. Potential law students can take preparatory classes that may help them earn higher scores. High LSAT scores can open the door to admissions at Ivy League law schools.
Law Classes
Students may study material pertaining to constitutional law, environmental law, prison law, conflict resolution techniques, jurisprudence, contract laws, property and torts. An emphasis is placed on helping students gain an understanding of how the law functions. Students are also taught under the Socratic method, where they learn glean information via questioning, think quickly under pressure and form cogent legal arguments rapidly. Students generally attend law school for three years.
Passing the Bar
Those who want to become a lawyer must pass the state's bar exam. This is a written formal exam covering many areas of law. Students who have graduated from law school typically take time to study for the bar and attend preparation classes, which focus on specific state requirements. Lawyers must usually take and pass bar exams for each state where they would like to practice law. Students can expect to be tested on their understanding of local laws as well as their general knowledge of wills and trusts. Candidates may also be required to pass a performance test where they are given a sample case and asked to formulate a memorandum that illustrates their understanding of the underlying legal issues raised by the case in question.
Writing Skills
Practicing lawyers must be able to draft documents that use legal language correctly and effectively. A lawyer's education focuses on helping students learn to write well. Students are also expected to learn write precisely and make use of proper legal terminology as part of their job.
Logic
Lawyers must demonstrate their knowledge of construct a legal argument. A lawyer must be able to defend a client effectively and write a document that makes logical sense. Always give adequate notice before terminating your roommate relationship.
Whether you can't get your roommate to pay her share of the rent, or you simply have conflicting personalities, ending a roommate relationship does not need to be complicated. Before giving your roommate notice that you will be moving out or asking her to vacate, plan what you want to say and research your legal rights and obligations. This will keep your discussion on topic and make the separation easier on both of you.

1. Review any agreements that you and your roommate have signed. FindLaw.com says you will need to know how much notice you must give your roommate and landlord, as well as whether you will face any monetary penalties for breaching the agreement.
2. Prepare and evaluate a list of reasons for ending the roommate relationship. Be objective and fair in your assessment; don't make personal attacks on your roommate.
3. Talk with your roommate in person. Although you may wish to present your roommate with a formal written statement ending your relationship, discuss the issue face-to-face. This will give your roommate a chance to ask any questions and clarify what steps each of you will be taking to find a new living arrangement.
4. Determine the terms under which you plan to leave or to ask your roommate to leave. Unless it is specifically outlined in a lease or roommate agreement, talk to her about an appropriate timeframe. A child's education is the foundation of his life. Reaching the fifth grade successfully with all the basics makes learning even more fun. However, if trouble looms, you'll need to meet with the teacher and discuss hiring a tutor. These steps help you to determine if a tutor is what you need for your fifth grader.

Teacher's Expectations
1. Schedule a meeting with your child's teacher at the start of the new school year. At the meeting, find out what she expects from her students. Tell her you support her expectations and want to work with her to ensure your child learns. Exchange phone numbers and email addresses.
2. Become a room mom and get involved with the classroom activities. Watch how your child relates to the teacher and other children during group learning sessions. If your child is attentive and seems happy overall, then all is good. But, if any signs of lack of interested, bored or "not there" attitude, you might need a tutor.
3. Every other day quiz your child on math and spelling. You can use flash cards or simply look over the homework and "spot check" his understanding to the materials by asking questions like "Which is more 0.02 or 0.14" or "Spell 'fighting.'" Any indications of difficulty should be discussed with the teacher to see if a tutor is needed.
Child's Schoolwork
4. Look don't listen. If your child says school is going great and all is well, look at the schoolwork, the grades and periodically talk with the teacher about how your child is doing. If your child's writing and math work is easy to read and understand, great. If writing and math doesn't come across as legible, then you need to take action.
5. Stop and take action if the teacher is sending notes home or calling you about your child's behavior in school. Get the specifics of what is happening with your child.
6. Monitor your child's study habits. If your child is eager to get homework done or has it done by the time she gets home, this is great. You can check to see if the understanding is there to make sure she knows what she is learning and can apply it. If homework and study time are continuously a hassle, consider a tutor.
7. Call a tutor right away if your child blows off homework or school in general. If you can't get him to sit down and do homework or study no matter what you do, even if you try games, puzzles and reading out loud, it's time to call in a tutor.

The spouse and children of a military service member have several scholarship and grant opportunities available to them to pursue higher education. There is money available to pay for tuition, books and lab-related expenses. Some scholarships are academically based whereas others are based on financial need. In addition to military-wide grants and scholarships, each branch generally has their own options available for dependents of that branch of service as well.
Career Advancement Accounts (CAA)
Military spouses are eligible for up to $6,000 towards higher education. The CAA is available for two years to military spouses with a maximum of $3,000 per year. The grant money is paid directly to the school.
Post 9/11 GI Bill
The Post 9/11 GI Bill can be transferred to dependents once the military member reenlists in the military or opts for the new GI bill option. The Post 9/11 GI Bill provides tuition which varies by state, an annual stipend for books and monthly housing allowance based on the E-5 rate and the zip code where the school is located. If the service member is active duty, the housing allowance through the GI Bill is not available.
National Military Family Association (NMFA)
NMFA offers a $1,000 annual scholarship to spouses of military service members. To apply, the spouse must complete an application which includes essay questions. Spouses may apply every year for this benefit.
Commissary Scholarships
Annual scholarships are available for military children through the commissary on each post. The minimum scholarship amount is $1,500, and a scholarship will be awarded at each commissary that has qualified applicants.

FHA loans are one of the most popular types of loans for home buyers. They have low down payment requirements and the interest rate is not driven based on credit scores. However, FHA does have several requirements that a home buyer must meet prior to approval, especially when student loans are involved.
Repayment History
If you are repaying a student loan, you must show a positive repayment history when applying for an FHA loan. You cannot have any late payments or missed payments for a period of 2 years when the loan is in repayment status.
Deferred Status
If you are not obligated to repay your student loan currently, your student loan balance will still be counted on your debt to income ratio. Depending on the amount of the loan, and the projected repayments this can significantly reduce the amount of the home that FHA will qualify you for.
Forebearance Status
Similar to a student loan being in deferred status, forbearance means that your loan is temporarily forgiven when it comes to repayment. Despite this, however, the amount of your payment in addition to the balance of your student loan will count against your debt and can reduce or eliminate your ability to qualify for an FHA loan. Even if it is in forbearance status, if you have been late or missed payments in the past you will not qualify for an FHA loan.
Debt Ratio
Due to the nature of high balances on student loans, it is important to note how these loans count against your debt ratio regardless of the status of the loan. Your income must show that you are not over 43 percent in debt for all of the loans you carry. Many times, paying off credit cards will reduce your debt ratio enough to carry the student loan payment and balance when checked against your income.
Reinstatement Criteria
If you have fallen behind on student loan payments and are unable to qualify for an FHA loan because of this you might be able to work with the lender to have your loan reinstated as positive by paying off 5 to 10 percent of your balance outright. Once the loan is reported as current your ability to qualify for an FHA loan will be enhanced.
Considerations
When applying for an FHA loan it is wise to check your own credit report and understand read it before you speak to a lender. Should your student loan information be questionable in any way, you will need to contact the lender directly to see if you can resolve any questions. This will increase your chances of qualifying for an FHA loan in the beginning.

Deferring a loan means the lender will postpone payment collection for a period of time. Because each loan and lender is different, deferments can range from a few months to up to five years. During the deferment period, interest is usually charged-except in the case of subsidized loans (such as student loans).
To qualify for a loan deferment, the borrower must meet specific criteria such as military obligations, hardship circumstances or unemployment.

1. Request a hardship deferment. If you have a medical or psychiatric condition considered a disability with which you can no longer work, you may qualify for a hardship deferment of the loan. In most swimming pools, the depth is clearly marked along the edge, but in a natural body of water, you may have to investigate more cautiously, using a stick or an experienced swimmer. 2. Teach yourself swim by learning tread water, making sure that you venture into a pool depth that is deep enough so that your feet won't hit the bottom, but not too deep that you won't be able to rest safely. Treading water involves kicking your legs gently while floating in a vertical position, like riding a bicycle. Practice this until you can keep your head afloat for 20 to 30 seconds at a time.
3. Practice floating on your back by holding a deep breath and allowing your body to become buoyant in the water. This will teach you to stay afloat when you become too tired to swim, and will help to reduce your fears of the water.
4. Grab an edge on the side of the pool and allow your body to float to the surface by taking another deep breath, this time on your stomach. Once your body becomes close to horizontal in the water, start kicking gently, alternating the motion of your feet. Practice staying afloat this way until you can manage 20 to 30 seconds at a time as well.
5. Start developing the proper arm strokes by pushing off the side of the pool, taking a deep breath and starting your kicking motion. Your arm strokes should be smooth and centered well below the surface of the water, which will propel you forward. Experiment with the various types of swimming strokes, and practice swimming longer distances.

An online law degree is a great alternative for someone who can't take the requisite time out of his or her work day to earn a traditional law degree, and it's useful for someone without a law school in the community. A correspondence law degree can prepare someone to sit for the California state bar exam and practice as an attorney. Teaching an autistic child to write may take longer.
Teaching autistic children to write requires some patience and some extra support. The method of teaching, for the most part, is the same as teaching typically- developing children to write, but you will likely spend an exceptional length of time on each step. It may take years for the child to learn to write his name completely without help, or it may be something he picks up relatively easily. The keys are having patience and never giving up. Find new, interesting and fun ways to present material and keep frustration levels low. According to Kathryn Stout, M.Ed., "Children should focus on one objective at a time -- first, correct formation, then size, then slant." Slant is not usually necessary in printing if the letters are formed correctly.
Instructions
1. Making letters with clay helps children learn the letters of the alphabet while strengthening fine motor skills.
Practice fine motor skills before starting actual writing lessons. Children with autism often have weak motor skills, so the earlier you can start using activities to improve gross and fine motor skills, the better. Fine motor skills are necessary in order to hold a pen or pencil correctly, and to press hard enough for the writing to be legible.
Some good activities for developing fine motor skills are playing with clay, sand or other squishy objects; picking up and sorting dried beans or pasta; coloring or painting and lacing activities, such as cards with holes punched in the outline of a picture or letter so the child can lace yarn or shoelaces through the holes.
2. Markers, crayons or paintbrushes can be helpful for autistic writers.
Show the child trace outlines with a crayon or jumbo pencil. If the child is having trouble with finger strength and motor skills, let her use markers or a paintbrush so she doesn't have to press as hard. Difficulty pressing hard enough for people to clearly see the writing can be caused by poor finger strength, poor fine motor skills and coordination. It also can be caused by sensory issues, where the child has trouble receiving input from the outside environment and processing that input. With sensory integration problems, the child may actually have trouble with knowing how hard or soft he is pressing on the paper. Tracing pictures, letters and numbers and connecting the dots are all good practice.
3. Provide the child with unlined writing paper and have him practice making straight lines, shapes and circles. He should always start at the top of the line, moving the pencil downward, and at the two o'clock position of the circle, moving the pencil counter-clockwise, as in writing the letter C. Insist that the child holds the writing implement in the correct position for writing properly later on, and forms all parts of the shape in the traditional order for writing a letter: "Every line should be drawn left to right or top to bottom. Vertical lines are drawn first, left side, then right side, and then the connecting horizontal lines. The horizontal lines on top are first, and all horizontal lines should begin at the left. Kids have their own short cuts, so these basics do need to be taught," according to Stout.
4. Supervision is essential or your child will learn bad habits, which will be hard to break.
Draw boxes for the child to put the letters into, one letter per box; this works well for the most concrete learners. Each box should be just big enough for the letter to fit, starting with somewhat larger boxes until the child develops more skill. Give the child a page of properly written letters to begin copying into the boxes. Many children prefer learning the letters to write their own names first.
5. Try the handwriting paper that has raised lines that the child can feel with her fingers and through the pencil, as the child masters writing letters in the boxes. Autistic children are visual learners, and so the typical wide-ruled paper may not be enough support to help them learn to stay within the lines.
6. Autistic children often need to start with boxes, then raised lines, before "graduating" to the typical wide-ruled handwriting paper.
Switch to the traditional wide-ruled handwriting paper once the child is doing well at making properly formed, consistently sized letters.
There are many inexpensive workbooks that divide the letters of the alphabet into similar groups, showing the child the letter to copy, as well as arrows to show which direction to make each line. These directions may be lost on an autistic child, but will still help you to determine teach the letter formation, as well as the grouping of similar letters.

Changing your career at 40 can be a rewarding experience and you should not view yourself at a disadvantage to younger applicants. Admissions faculty review non-traditional applicants in a different manner than those directly out of undergraduate programs, as life experience will be to your advantage. This will assist you as admissions officers seek to enroll a diverse class.
Instructions
1. Review your academic credentials and ensure that you resolve any issues, both financial and academic, with your university, should there be any to resolve. As a non-traditional student, you will not be required to attain academic letters of recommendation, rather, you will need to seek those out amongst your professional networks.
2. Enroll in a community college or local university to complete the prerequisites--English composition, chemistry, developmental psychology, anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, statistics, nutrition--for admission to an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. Even if you have previously completed these courses, they are only valid if you have completed them within the past ten years. An ABSN program is an option for those who have previously completed a Baccalaureate degree in any other discipline and can be completed in 15 to 18 months of full-time study. Submit all required materials for admission: application, academic transcripts, personal essays and letters of recommendation. Submission of standardized test scores are generally not required of ABSN applicants.
3. Complete the ABSN program in the time restrictions stipulated by the university. Submit an application for licensure from your state board of nursing and register for the National Council for Licensure Examination - RN (NCLEX-RN). Achieve a passing score in order to receive licensure.
4. Prepare for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) as the primary step for admission to law school. The test gauges the taker's ability to analyze short excerpts of reading covering a range of subjects and solve logic games. The LSAT does not test the person's knowledge of the law, as it is meant to serve as a quantitative standard of a person's ability to comprehend and analyze, regardless of his or her academic background. Submission of an LSAT score is a requirement for admission to all American Bar Association accredited schools.
Submit all undergraduate transcripts and letters of recommendation to the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) as this is the centralized method of applying to all law schools. LSAC will assemble your application package and submit it to the schools of your choosing once all materials are received. Ensure constant supervision of your LSAC account in case there is ever an issue with any materials submitted.
5. Complete law school with three years of full-time study. Submit an application for licensure to your state Bar association and register for the state bar examination. Prepare for the two to three day examination thoroughly, as the examination is only offered twice per year--July and February. Earn a passing score in order to garner licensure.
