Tuition insurance or tuition refund insurance is an insurance product that is available to protect the cost of tuition when a child gets sick and needs to leave school. The Common Application process is limited to a consortium of colleges and universities that use a holistic process for admitting students, including an untimed essay. Colleges that use the Common Application require the essay in addition to a recommendation, and competition among applicants shows who stands out and who falls in with the rest of the crowd. A college application essay is one of the few times that someone has to pay attention to your words, so make them count. The best essays give the reader a personal experience with you, leaving them excited to meet you, and admit you into their college.


Thesis


The Common Application essay needs a succinct topic or thesis. A thesis is a single point or main idea that embodies your essay. College admissions allow students to choose from a few topics in the hopes that they will prove their creativity and desires on paper. So, students really do have full control of the college admission essay. This is to gauge values, preferences, mental processes, depth of knowledge, creativity and sense of humor.


Topics


Generally, essays need to show a student's preferences and interests, such as if a student enjoys learning about the poet Allen Ginsberg or exploring histories of the Cold War to repainting classic styles of Leonardo DaVinci. The introduction includes the thesis as well as interesting background and knowledge. You have to excite the reader to read more about you in the introduction, then draw him to your main idea, the thesis. A money gifting system, or cash gift scheme, is a method of income generation that involves members of the scheme "gifting" sums of money to other, more senior members, as the price for their inclusion in the scheme. New members then recruit fresh members who in turn gift them.


FTC Definition of a Pyramid Scheme


Money gifting systems fall under the FTC's definition of pyramid schemes as they "promise consumers or investors large profits based primarily on recruiting others to join their program, not based on profits from any real investment or real sale of goods to the public."


History


Many money gifting schemes now advertise online. Before the advent of the Internet, similar cash gifting schemes would spread by word of mouth through communities and private clubs.


Function


A new member pays money to their higher ranking recruiter, who takes a share of that money and passes the remainder to his recruiter and so on. The new member then recruits other members, and the cycle continues.


Warning


According to a statement delivered on May 13, 1998, by Debra A. Valentine, general counsel for the FTC, because of the way they operate, money gifting schemes are doomed to eventual failure, as the number of recruits required to maintain payments in the scheme will eventually dwindle to nothing--with a lot of investors seeing no return whatsoever.


Illegality


Money gifting schemes, as with all pyramid schemes, are illegal. Participating in a cash gift scheme constitutes criminal fraud and may result in criminal prosecution.

Perform A Surgical Scrub

Protect yourself and others before a surgical procedure.








Hands are one of a health care worker's most important tools, and it's critical for everyone in the medical field to maintain a strict code of hygiene. It's particularly important for workers entering a surgical suite to help reduce the spread of microorganisms throughout the rooms. This is done through a surgical scrub, a precise and thorough cleansing of the hands and arms that kills transient flora and helps lessen resident flora in case of glove tears.


Instructions








1. Remove all rings, bracelets and watches.


2. Remove any residue from under the nails with a nail file.


3. Begin washing both sides of one hand with antimicrobial soap, and scrub in between each finger with a sterile brush. Nails should receive about 20 to 30 brush strokes, while other areas of the hand should receive about 10 to 20. This process should take approximately two minutes.


4. Move up the arm, and continue scrubbing 2 to 3 inches above the elbow for approximately one minute. Make sure the scrubbed hand stays above the elbow to prevent contaminated soap and water from touching clean areas.


5. Repeat the process on the opposite side. If either arm touches a contaminated surface, continuing scrubbing the area of contact for another minute.


6. Discard the brush, and--continuing to hold hands above elbows--begin to rinse off soap on one arm and the other. Let the water run off the elbows.


7. Dry hands with a sterile towel, and put on sterile gloves. If hands touch a contaminated surface, repeat the entire process.

Federal Grants Available For Minority Women

Minority women are awarded federal grants for various reasons including starting or expanding a business, continuing their education and housing needs. Recipients of the minority women grants should know the rules about the grants. For instance, the federal Pell grant does not have to be repaid, as long as all academic requirements are met. The high cost and huge time commitment it takes to earn a doctoral degree means it was once limited to an elite few. The growth of distance learning programs online, however, has made obtaining the most highly regarded academic degree more accessible. Distance learning doctoral programs exist for dozens of fields, including business, education, and psychology. Prospective students should examine these programs closely before undertaking their studies.


History


College courses delivered via closed-circuit television broadcasts represent the beginning of distance learning. These broadcasts allowed professors to teach multiple sections of a single class at once. This option, however, gave students only limited access to their instructors. Prerequisites For Becoming A Pediatrician

Pediatricians provide medical treatment to children.


Pediatricians treat and diagnose ailments in babies, toddlers, children, teens and young adults. They provide routine check-ups, immunizations and yearly physicals, as well as treat more serious chronic conditions, infectious diseases, injuries, ailments and autoimmune disorders. High School Diploma

Bachelor Degree


Earning your bachelor's degree will prepare you for medical school and a future career in pediatrics. Feel free to use resources such as general dictionaries, legal dictionaries and bilingual legal dictionaries. Get ideas of topics from current events in the local newspaper or focus on hypothetical questions in the areas most important to you or your future employer such as real estate or criminal law. Ask or hire a Spanish-speaking lawyer to correct your mistakes and then learn from the experience.

Form Dd 1556 Instructions

The United States Department of Defense provides certain reimbursements for training by employees and military personnel. In order to receive reimbursement for these activities, personnel are required to complete DD Form 1556, Request, Authorization, Agreement, Certification of Training and Reimbursement.








About DD Form 1556








DD Form 1556 is a voluntary, multipurpose form whose specifics are provided by each department that requires its use. The completed form should be signed by you and the appropriate supervisor or department leader. The form should be issued for approval along with a course description, copy of the degree program requirements if applicable and an itemized list of all student fees that are associated with the course. You should also include the name, phone number, fax number and department name of the payment location, as well as the university's preferred payment method. You will be required to issue proof that you completed the course before applying for additional payments.


Completing DD Form 1556


To complete DD Form 1556, begin by entering your name, last name first. Include your fax number and work email address in this block. Enter your Social Security number without dashes. Enter your education level. Enter 13 for Bachelor Degree, 14 for Post Bachelor, 15 for your 1st Professional course and 16 for Post 1st Professional. The analytical writing assessment (AWA) section of the GMAT (Graduate Management Assessment Test) measures your aptitude for critical thinking and communication through two 30-minute writing tasks--analysis of an issue and analysis of an argument. For any potential MBA student, it's important to score well. Follow these steps to prepare for the GMAT analytical writing section.


Instructions


1. Visit MBA.com and download a list of the current topics being used during the GMAT exam. They are divided into topics for each section and available in PDF format.


2. Study the issues list carefully and choose a few topics for practice. Brainstorm ideas and make a list of experiences or observations that relate to the topics. The analysis of an issue portion of the test requires specific examples.


3. Familiarize yourself with the argument topics and research ones you are not comfortable discussing. The argument portion of the test requires you to evaluate and critique a specific argument and use supporting facts.


4. Conduct a practice session by randomly choosing a topic and writing a practice essay for each section. You only have 30 minutes for each question; you must be able to write the entire essay in this time.


5. Keep in mind that your essay is scored by both human grader and an electronic tool known as E-rater. Use a simple, clean structure when writing and common keywords such as "for example," "therefore," and other qualifying words often to score higher with the E-rater.

Ann Arbor was also the city with the highest 90th percentile salary, at $43,270, but Jackson's $39,690 90th percentile fell to third place, behind the Niles-Benton Harbor area, with a 90th percentile salary of $40,370. Niles-Benton Harbor did have an average salary just over the statewide average, at $28,250, but fell below the national average.

The worst-paying cities for medical assistants in Michigan were Saginaw, with a 10th-percentile wage of $18,480 per year and an average of $24,980 per year, and Flint, with a 10th-percentile wage of $19,730. Flint's average salary of $27,330 was still higher than some of the other lower-paying cities. Bay City, for example, paid medical assistants an average salary of $25,210 per year and $19,730 in the 10th percentile.

Study The Muscles Of The Body

Use different study techniques to learn the muscles of the body.








The point of studying is to retain information so you understand it, especially if you will be tested. Whether you are a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner, your particular style will influence how you study best. The more study techniques you use, the better the information will stick. There are many muscles of the body to learn, so learning all of them can be a bit overwhelming. But if you take it step by step and use good techniques, you can learn them.


Instructions


Studying Muscles


1. Group information together. "Chunking" is a way to make larger amounts of information easier to remember. Focus on one part of the body at a time when studying muscles. For example, study all the muscles of the head or torso. You might want to make smaller groups and, for instance, study the facial muscles first before moving on to neck muscles and so forth.


2. Write down all of the names of the muscles and their functions. For example, jot down "temporalis -- muscle of mastication." Writing things down is a good way for visual learners to retain the information. You can write the information down more than once to solidify muscle names and functions. You can also create flash cards with a separate muscle on each card.


3. Identify where the specific muscles are on an anatomical model, picture or another person. By feeling the muscles, you are learning by doing. Note how the muscle feels. Is it large or small? If you are pointing out the muscle on a model or diagram, you are reinforcing the information visually.


You can also color pictures of the muscles. There are specific anatomy coloring books that you can purchase such as the "Anatomy Coloring Book" written by Wynn Kapit and Lawrence M. Elson. You can also make copies of pictures from an anatomy book and color these in or trace the defining lines of the muscles. This is another form of kinesthetic learning.








4. Say the names of the muscles and their functions out loud to yourself or to another person. By speaking the names of the muscles, you can use your auditory sense to help you learn them. You can also speak the names and functions into a recording device and play it back.


5. Find mnemonic devices to help you remember the difficult muscle names. A mnemonic device is trigger such as a word, rhyme or diagram that helps you remember things. You can use the first letters of each muscle name to form a word. Like S.I.T.S stands for supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis, which are rotator cuff muscles. You can visualize the name of a muscle on each landing of a staircase to help recall the information.

Student Loans For Senior Citizens

Student education loans help millions of Americans attend college each year. It doesn't matter what your age, you can apply for a student loan. With more older adults going back to school, growing numbers of non-traditional students are looking for ways to finance their education costs. As programs sponsored by colleges continue to attract retired members of the community, post-secondary schools are becoming more aggressive at targeting older students. Today an increasing number of olleges and other institutions for higher learning find themselves revising educational programs and curriculums to meet the growing demand of senior students who have decided to remain in the job market beyond retirement age.


Types


There are several different types of student loans available to borrowers. Federal student loans like the Stafford loan allow students to borrow money at a low, fixed interest rate. While the federal government guarantees these loans, students must first complete and submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form in order to be eligible to receive any type of federal financial aid. In addition to borrowing from the federal Stafford loan program, many older students are also applying for private or alternative student loans to help pay for tuition and other education expenses not covered by federal financial aid. Considering the rising cost of higher education, and because federal student loans have limits, many students find that they need to borrow additional money from a private lender. The major difference is that the federal government does not guarantee private student loans. Terms of private loans vary according to the lender, but a good credit history is usually required to qualify.


Considerations


When applying for a federal Stafford loan, review of a student's FAFSA form can take several weeks or even months. Loan disbursements go directly to the college. Payments are deferred while a student is in school. Private student loans require no collateral to secure the loan; however, students can borrow more than the loan limits allowed by federal student loan programs. In many cases, borrowers can apply online, and loan disbursements go directly to the student rather than to the school. Like federal student loans, repayment is deferred until six months after graduation. Other possible resources for funding continuing education include educational and adult learning grants, career development, employer tuition reimbursement programs, union scholarships for adult learners, graduate assistantships and educational benefits for veterans.


Misconceptions


Financial aid is not necessarily difficult for an older adult to get. On the contrary, older students are often eligible for many different kinds of tuition assistance including student loans, university scholarships, and work-study programs. College is no longer for younger adults only, as there is no other place where age diversity is more evident than on the nation's college campuses.

Since individual students' financial aid needs can differ, it's important to find out about all the options available to you regardless of your age. The amount of federal financial aid for which you might qualify is dependent on your need. A common feature of most student loans is the low interest rates, with federal student loans being the most affordable. If you qualify for a federal student loan, the government will pay the interest on the loan while you are in school. Consolidating your federal student loans after graduation can get you a single monthly payment and perhaps a lower interest rate. Education loans, including private education loans, currently allow for penalty-free prepayment. Obtaining a private education loan is another option for financing education. You can use a home equity loan to lock in a fixed interest rate for the term of the loan.

Types Of Parsons Chairs

Parsons chairs originate from the late 19th and 20th centuries coming from The Parsons School in Paris. The typical parsons chair is very simple in design with sturdy legs and a long, square backrest. Write A Class Curriculum

Whether you are teaching a one-day seminar or a 12-week certificate class, a curriculum will serve to help you organize your lessons and reach the class goals. A curriculum, handed out at the beginning of the course, gives students an idea of what is expected of them and what they can expect from you. The more thought you put into writing the curriculum, the smoother your class will run.


Instructions


1. List all the topics you want to cover in the class. Write your first list in a brainstorming style, putting down everything that you feel is important without nay thoughts of the final curriculum or how you plan to present it.


2. Break up the list into categories and set up timelines for each category. Eliminate the least important details that won't fit in the allotted time. Include time limits for breakout sessions, group discussions, lectures and breaks. At the end of each session, write down what the homework assignments will be and when they will be due.


3. Leave room for changes as the course progresses. Be flexible and prepare for discussions or questions to exceed your expected time limits. Other topics may end earlier than expected, especially when teaching non-credit classes to adults, the best laid plans can be disrupted. Stick to your curriculum, but when necessary, make adjustments as you go.


4. Add extra items to the curriculum when you are writing it so that you will have prepared topics to fill any sudden voids. They can be listed on the curriculum under a separate category, which states: "if time allows, these subjects will also be covered."
