Walden University
Walden offers a number of online PhD psychology programs: clinical, counseling, general, health, and organizational psychology. The online PhD program in clinical and counseling psychology requires 159 credit hours to complete; however, general, health, and organizational psychology students need to complete only 121 hours of course work. Students attend 500 hours of residency training at Walden University satellite locations. The residencies give students a chance to meet and talk with faculty members, as a way of promoting a sense of affiliation with the university. In addition, a practicum, internship and dissertation must be satisfactorily completed. Argosy University lets students earn a PhD in Education in Counseling Psychology online.
