Prepare For The Gre Math Test







Prepare for your GRE math test early.


The math portion of the Graduate Records Exam is called the "Quantitative Section." It covers basic math concepts that do not exceed the high school level. It is one of three sections on the GRE and is multiple choice. Preparation for the GRE math section is essential to obtain the best possible score. Your GRE score is what your graduate school uses to gauge your readiness for graduate programs.


Instructions








1. Familiarize yourself with the test format. Visit the GRE website and review the types of questions that will appear on the exam. Download the GRE math practice booklet and read the preface, which reviews the exam's layout and covers test-taking strategies, test preparation methods and the calculation of test scores.


2. Take a GRE prep course. Visit GRE testing centers in your area. Sign up for a math prep course, attend all of your classes and work together with your instructors and peers to solve sample GRE math problems.


3. Take a GRE practice tests. Complete the math exam in your GRE practice booklet or obtain a practice exam from your college bookstore, local library or online. Time yourself while taking the practice exam and review your results to identify the concepts that require additional practice.
