Become An Emergency Medical Technician Training In Tucson

Being an emergency medical technician (EMT) is for those who love excitement and working in challenging environments and who thrive on helping others. Becoming an EMT can lead to numerous other career adventures such as law enforcement, firefighting, emergency preparedness, public health and occupational safety and health.


Instructions








1. Review the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System website and the EMT Certification Information Sheet for Arizona state requirements (see Resources).








2. Successfully complete a Arizona-approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Training course (see Resources).


3. Successfully complete the National Registry exam for the EMT-Basic. You must complete this step within 1 year of your EMT training program.


4. Complete the Initial Application for EMT Certification. The application has a specific address for Tucson, Arizona (see Resources).


5. Contact the Southeastern Arizona EMS Council, which covers the Tucson area, if you have questions.
