Become A Homeopathic Doctor Online

People who wish to learn homeopathic medicine can study on-line.

Homeopathy offers people who suffer from various ailments an alternative to conventional medicine. The basis of homeopathy centers on the theory that effective treatment of physical disturbances can result from the use of homeopathic tinctures. Each tincture contains substances which produce the same symptoms in healthy people as those receiving treatment. Traditionally homeopaths have learned this practice through homeopathic schools or as apprentices to veteran doctors of homeopathic medicine. Today, opportunities exist to learn homeopathic medicine on-line.

Instructions

1. Find an online program that teaches homeopathic medicine. Some online programs include the Caduceus Institute of Classical Homeopathy, Australasian College of Hahnemannian Homoeopathy, Simillimum's Homeopathy Online Education and the Homoeopathy International Online College. Review the course material that each teaches and the homeopathic philosophy of each course to decide what will fit your needs best. Differing philosophies of homeopathy include classical (using one remedy at a time of differing potency's), complex (combining remedies) and clinical/therapeutic (using specific remedies for individual diseases).

2. Ascertain the requirements of your state's Department of Health for homeopathic practitioners. Some states do not regulate practitioners of homeopathy and others include homeopathy within the scope of practice of chiropractic, naturopathy, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy and veterinary medicine. Some states demand certification by a recognized certifying body. The Council for Homeopathic Certification, the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians and the American Board of Homeotherapeutics grants certification for homeopathic training programs, which members of the homeopathic community and some states accept as a way to set competency and education standards for homeopathic practitioners. Make sure that the on-line program that you choose will meet the requirements of a recognized certifying body, if necessary.

3. Review the educational requirements of each program. Some on-line programs require proficiency in health sciences, before commencing homeopathic study, while others include these prerequisites in their course of study. Each on-line program has a different set of requirements for the clinical part of the program that students must fulfill after (or during) completion of their on-line courses. Review the course demands and decide which program best fits your needs.

4. Complete the required courses to earn your certification.
