Law Training Courses







Law training courses cover a range of topics.


Laws are the set of rules that govern our daily lives, shaping how our society and government work. There are training courses that cover a variety of aspects of the legal system to give students a broad range of knowledge. Plus, there are courses specific to the type of law you may practice, such as family and criminal law.


Law Enforcement


Law enforcement training programs not only prepare police officers to serve and protect their communities, but on border protection, land management and immigration laws as well. Depending on the program, coursework might include firearms training, boat operations and advanced law enforcement training. While these courses are mainly for federal law enforcement officers, private sector students also may take the courses at schools such as the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.


Paralegals








Paralegals take a variety of courses on the law, such as contract law training. This course teaches students draft legal contracts and work with third-party contracts as well as deal with breach of contract issues. The University of California Extension offers a paralegal contract law program, where you will review numerous contracts. You'll be able to create your own by the end of the program.


Immigration


Immigration law training courses are for immigration legal service providers that work in the nonprofit arena. You'll receive an overview of immigration law and learn respond to law enforcement professionals. Coursework often includes family immigration law, immigration law and crime, refugee issues and religious immigration training. The Catholic Legal Immigration Network Inc. provides a training program that covers immigration law.


Boating and Waterways


Boating and waterways law enforcement training courses are for marine patrol officers, including lifeguards, law enforcement officers and harbor patrol officers. The goal of these courses is to provide uniform training to state officials. Coursework includes basic boat handling, accident investigation and boating safety. Certain schools offer advanced coursework on subjects such as laws on personal watercrafts, marine fires and navigation and piloting. The California Department of Boating and Waterways offers training to industry professionals.
