Take Credit Recovery Classes

As the nation ponders dismal high school graduation rates, educators and students are turning to "credit recovery" options to get delinquent or lagging high school careers back on track. Credit recovery classes allow students to finish out their high school degree at their own pace. Credit recovery classes are provided for a wide range of content areas so that students can make up what they need in the quickest time.

Instructions

1. Find credit recovery classes by subject. Identify what is holding the student back from graduating and enroll in the proper classes to obtain the high school degree or GED.

2. Take diagnostic tests. Lots of credit recovery course options offer pre-class tests to help the student figure out what he specifically needs to work on to get a complete skill set for the high school degree.

3. Take advantage of state offered credit recovery solutions. Some states offer assistance or resources for pursuing credit recovery. For example, in Georgia, many schools participate along with the state's Division of School Improvement in offering credit recovery options to students to help increase high school graduation rates.

4. Use resources from private groups like Keystone Credit Recovery. This organization made up of educators and planners offers credit recovery solutions for students.

5. Use "virtual classroom" options to fit credit recovery into your schedule. Lots of credit recovery providers have moved the classes online to help struggling students. Whether it's job hours that are holding a student back or caring for children, online credit recovery can offer more flexibility for a high school degree.
