There are many different lenders who provide funding for college student education. A majority of student loans are funded and overseen by the federal government, and balances and payment options can be tracked at the governments direct loan website.








Instructions


Federal Loans Online


1. Pull up the federal student aid account log-in page referenced below. Request a new personal identification number using your Social Security number if you do not have your original PIN. Enter the correct Social Security number, birthdate, last name, and PIN.


2. Click on any of the blue links listed under account number to view your individual loans with interest and repayment history.


3. Return to the previous page and update any necessary personal information including your mailing address to receive future mailings and bills for your student loans to help you keep track in the future.








Non-federal Loans


4. Contact the university you attended via phone or email to request contact information for your loan provider.


5. Call your specific loan provider and request the balance of your student loan.


6. Update your current contact information with the lender, and request monthly statements be mailed to you.
