Build Relationships In Youth Sports

Relationships built in youth sports can last a lifetime.

Building relationships in youth sports can create friendships that last a lifetime. Youth sports teach youngsters about camaraderie and teamwork, which will be a benefit in all future relationships.

Instructions

Extend Yourself

1. Talk to the others on your team. Start with conversations about games coming up or about favorite proffesional players.

2. Invite your teammates over to your house for fun after a game. If this is not possible, ask your parents about taking the team out for ice cream instead to keep the conversations going.

3. Offer to practice with your teammates, outside of the official practices. Building relationships in youth sports means to carry the friendships off of the field as well.

4. Ask your teammates about things they like to do, outside of physical activities, once you are more comfortable with them. You may find that someone on your team loves the same games or movies as much as you do.

5. Arrange to keep having team meetings, even after the season is over. Plan get togethers and practices to keep up the camaraderie and spirit of the team.
