Scholarships For Nursing Education

Numerous scholarships exist for nursing students who plan to become nurse educators.


Nurse educators are a key component in the nursing field. They are responsible for educating and training the next generation of professional nurses. To ensure that nursing programs are adequately staffed, a number of scholarship programs have been developed specifically for those students who plan to become nurse educators.


Western Governors University Nurse Educators Scholarships


Western Governors University offers a scholarship program for registered nurses who plan to seek careers as nurse educators. To be eligible, you must have completed an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing and be accepted into the master's in nursing education program. Selected students will receive up to $2,000 in scholarship funding. Awards are based on academic achievement and the applicant's potential to successfully complete the program.

Oregon Health and Science University GAAN Scholarship


Oregon Health and Science University sponsors the GAAN Scholarship (Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need) for nursing students enrolled in the school's doctoral program. The program is designed for those nursing students who plan to seek careers in nursing education. Qualified students will receive full tuition and fees as well as a living stipend for up to five years of study.

Tufts Health Plan Foundation Nurse Scholars Program


The Tufts Health Plan Foundation Nurse Scholars Program provides scholarship funding of up to $10,000 to Massachusetts residents who are pursuing graduate degrees at selected colleges and universities in-state. To apply, you must have completed at least four courses toward the completion of a master's or doctoral degree in nursing. All recipients must agree to work in a Massachusetts nursing education program for a period of one year after graduation.

Davis Scholarship for Future Nurse Educators


The Illinois Nurses Association offers the Davis Scholarship for Future Nurse Educators to Illinois students who are pursuing a graduate degree in nursing education. The $1,000 scholarship is available to outstanding nursing students who are prepared to serve as a member of a nursing faculty in Illinois for a period of one year after graduation.

Nurse Educators of Tomorrow Scholarship


The College Foundation of North Carolina offers the Nurse Educators of Tomorrow Scholarship for state residents who are pursuing degrees in nursing education. The program is open to state residents enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program who agree to service as nurse educators in-state after graduation. Selected students will receive $15,000 per year for up to three years of study.
