South Texas College of Law
South Texas College of Law is located in downtown Houston. The college was founded in 1923. Day and evening full-time and part-time classes are offered to students. The college also support an extensive study abroad program, offering opportunities Italy, the Czech Republic, Malta, Ireland, Turkey, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Chile. Financial aid such as work study programs, loans, scholarships and grants are available.
University of Houston Law Center
The University of Houston Law Center is a public law school offering legal education for a reasonably priced tuition. The university offers law degrees as well as combined and concurrent degrees in conjunction with other universities, such as a J.D. combined with a M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and a J.D. combined with a PhD in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University. The faculty is comprised of recognized leaders in the legal field. The university offers a low student to faculty ratio of 10:1. Full-time and part-time curriculum is available.
Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law
Thurgood Marshall School of Law is a division of Texas Southern University and has been located in Houston since 1976. The law school is named in honor of distinguished former U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall. The school's curriculum is designed to support the needs of all students and in particular the needs of minority and disadvantaged students. The school has produced numerous judges and attorneys of many ethnicities.
Law School Admission
Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. In general, law school admission test (LSAT) scores, undergraduate grade point average (GPA), undergraduate course of study, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation are taken into consideration for admission to law school. Specific admission requirements vary by school.
