Schools In Graphic Design

Many schools offer programs in graphic design.


Graphic design is an artistic process in which graphics and words are used together to get across a message or point. The primary goal of graphic design is to make something that is simultaneously aesthetically pleasing and also attention-grabbing. Graphic design is utilized for the creation of many items, including posters, brochures, websites, signs and logos.


California Institute of the Arts








The California Institute of the Arts, or CalArts, is an independent art college that is located in the city of Valencia, which is in Los Angeles County. The California Institute of the Arts was founded in 1961. The graphic design program offers bachelor's and master's degree programs, as well as motion graphics concentrations. Some of the core classes include visualization skills, typography, design issues, mutant design, visual literacy and publication design.


Drexel University








Drexel University, which is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an independent research institution that was established in 1891. Drexel University features an undergraduate program for graphic design. The program educates individuals on designing, envisioning and creating visual forms of communication via posters, signs, magazines, brochures and advertisements. The bachelor's of science curriculum includes classes such as computer imaging, intermediate photography, figure drawing, screenprint, typography and painting.


Ohio Northern University


Ohio Northern University is in Ada, Ohio, and is a private school that is associated with the Methodist church. Ohio Northern University has been in existence since 1871. The school's arts and science division offers a major program for graphic design, which includes a core curriculum of subjects including typography, design theory and visual communication. Other concepts that are part of the program include printmaking, painting, illustration and drawing.


Boston University


Boston University is a research institution that is in Boston, Massachusetts. The private university has been in operation since 1839. Boston University's School of Visual Arts has a graphic design undergraduate program, which is centered around topics including package design, print, typography and three-dimensional graphics. The required courses include graphic design history, typography design, art history, painting, printmaking, sculpture, web design and photography. The program calls for 132 credit hours in total.
