You'll need your account number to check your Visa balance.
Checking the balance on your Visa debit, credit or gift card is easy. In most cases, you should be able to check your balance from the comfort of your own home, providing you have a home computer and Internet connection. Always know your account balance before you go shopping to avoid any transaction denials.
Instructions
1. Go to an ATM, insert your Visa card and follow the on-screen instructions to check your balance on the ATM. Some ATMs that are outside your bank's system may charge you a fee to use their services. To avoid accruing a fee, use an ATM that is approved by your bank.
2. Log on to the website of the bank that issued your card. If you do not already have an account, you can create an account. If you have trouble creating an account, go in to your bank and ask a representative to help you. Once you are able to sign in to your account, you can easily check your balance online. Look for a link that says something similar to "manage my account" or "check my balance."
3. Determine your balance if your card is a Visa gift card by checking the information on the back of the card. The information should contain a customer service number that you can call to check your balance. You'll need your account number and PIN number. Additionally, the gift card provider's name may be listed on the back of the card. Go to their website and enter your account information to obtain your balance.
