Pass History Class Without Studying

With all the names, dates, concepts and ideas that get crammed into a history class, the idea of going home to study more can be overwhelming. Still, you need to pass history class somehow. Luckily, there are a few good tips and strategies that can help you pass history class without studying. Follow these steps to do so.

Instructions

1. Stay involved in class. If you really want to avoid studying you should make use of class time, since you have to be there anyway. Stay involved in the class discussions by asking questions, challenging some of the ideas and perspectives in your text book and being first to offer an answer to a teacher's question. The participation points you'll score from this will help you pass the class without studying.

2. Head to the video store. Almost all of the major historical events, wars and ideas have been made into a film at some point or another. And, even better, some of these films are actually good. Check out star-studded World War II films like "Saving Private Ryan," British Empire movies such as Russell Crowe's "Master and Commander," and other great history-related films to get the information you need for test time.

3. Learn some key facts and figures. A few very well placed facts and figures can go a long way. Learn a handful of dates and a couple of basic ideas that you can recycle in order to pass each of your history class exams. Things like the Magna Carta or one or two of the ideas of Thomas Jefferson never get old in the eyes of history teachers. So, build a small arsenal of basic facts and use them to pass your tests.

4. Get notes from former students. History class, like most other subjects, follows a pretty standard routine year after year. The material and the tests stay the same. So, find an older student who had the same teacher and ask for their notes. Use these notes, and any tips you can glean from the student, to skim before the test. This way, you can prepare yourself without really having to study.
