Picking a dorm at a collegiate campus is no easy task. Determining the best dorms based on age, size and style of living is even more difficult if you are a new student or one that doesn't know much about on-campus living. This article serves the purpose of taking the guesswork out of picking a dorm at Florida International University.

1. Check out Panther Hall if you want to live in a dormitory that is open to all students and features suite-style living. Panther Hall houses four students in a two-room configuration. The residents of this hall share a bedroom with one other person and share a living area and bathroom with three people. This is a co-educational dormitory. Rates vary per semester but residents of Panther Hall can expect to pay around $2,900 per semester, which also includes a meal plan.
2. Consider Lakeview Hall as it is one of the newest dormitories on the FIU campus. Lakeview Hall was opened in 2006 and is unique in that it offers two different room configurations for students. Residences of this dormitory have the option of living in either a private, four-bedroom suite or in a two-bedroom double suite in which they share a bedroom with a roommate. This dormitory is co-educational and is open to all students. Rates vary and include a meal plan but students can expect to pay roughtly $3,700 for the four-bedroom suite or $3,100 for the two-bedroom double suite.
3. Look at Everglades Hall if you want to live in a newer dormitory that offers private living. Residents of Everglades Hall enjoy private bedrooms in a three-bedroom suite-style set up. Each room features the three bedrooms with doors as well as a private bathroom to be shared by the suite-mates and a fully functioning kitchen. This dormitory is co-educational and open to every student at FIU. Just like the other dorms, rates include a meal plan and vary but students will pay roughly $3,800 to live at Everglades Hall.
