Medical Journals On Autism

Medical research journals publish peer-reviewed articles and research on a variety of topics, including autism and other developmental disorders. There are at least three major medical journals devoted to autism; however, there are several other research journals with a more general pediatric interest that also publish articles on the disorder and related developmental disorders.


The International Society for Autism Research


The International Society for Autism Research is a professional scientific journal for the study of autism. Each edition of the journal features editorials on current issues in autism, original research articles, brief reports and high-quality review articles. The research journal reports a strong focus on genetic, neurobiological and psychological mechanisms and how these influence developmental processes.

The International Journal of Research and Practice


The International Journal of Research and Practice is published in association with the National Autistic Society. The journal states that "autism is interdisciplinary in nature, focusing on evaluative research in all areas, including intervention, diagnosis, training, case study analyses of therapy, education, neurological issues, evaluation of particular therapies, quality of life issues, family issues and family services, medical and genetic issues and epidemiological research."
