Get School Loans Repaid

Repay student loans with consolidation and living frugally.

Repaying student loans can be done by consolidation and living frugally. Save extra money that you would spend on frivolous expenses such as going to the movies to pay toward your student loans.

Instructions

1. Find out how much you owe for student loans and to what companies. Visit the FinAid website if you do not know what lender holds your student loans. Learn what types of student loans you have such as Federal Subsidized Stafford, Federal Unsubsidized Stafford or a Federal Perkins loan. Obtain information about the particular types of loans you have and obtain repayment procedures.

2. Consolidate your student loan debt. Check to make sure you are eligible for consolidation such as having over $7,500 in loans. Compare interest rates before choosing a lender.

3. Visit the Sallie Mae website to get examples of repayment options for private student loans. Check eligibility requirements for repayment by loan type and balance.

4. Cut expenses and live frugally to repay student loans. Save money by reducing unnecessary expenses such as renting movies. Set a budget and stick to it and direct any spare income toward your student loan.
