Being in a sorority can be a fun way to spend your time in college. However, joining a sorority can be a long, difficult process. It's often very competitive, and you must act your best during the entire process in order to make it in one. You're constantly being evaluated. As well, other factors can come into play, making it difficult for you to be recruited. Luckily, there are some things you can do to get noticed by sororities, to make them think, "This girl should be in our sorority."
Instructions
1. Maintain a high GPA in high school. If you join a sorority later than your freshmen year in college, a high college GPA is important to help you get noticed, too. Sororities want girls who maintain good grades.
2. Participate in several activities, especially ones that show leadership and school spirit, in high school and on your own time. Sororities want girls who are active and take on leadership positions, as well as helping others in the community.
3. Consult with friends of yours who are in sororities. Ask them for their advice and what things the sorority looks for in new recruits.
4. Attend rush, where you meet with sororities and show them you'd make a great member.
5. Become knowledgeable of the sorority's history. Sororities respect the history of their organization. If you do too, that shows them you'd make a good candidate to join.
6. Dress your best at rush and other recruitment events. This doesn't mean you have to be in full formal wear, unless that's required. However, showing you care about your appearance can endear you to sorority members.
7. Keep a positive attitude. Rush is stressful. However, instead of sulking over another long day, embrace it with a positive attitude. And remember, smile.
8. Participate in all activities. You might be worn out, but successful participation can get you noticed.
9. Introduce yourself to as many girls as you can. Show genuine eagerness to meet other girls and get to know them. Smile and say, "It's great to meet you, Allison." Saying her name back to her makes a great impression.
