Scholarships For Students With Diabetes

Type 1 diabetics can find a variety of scholarships.


Finding money for college can be stressful for parents and students. Luckily, there are scholarships for every type of student. Scholarships for students with diabetes are limited; however, they are available. These scholarships are usually offered through non-profit organizations or through a specific university. Regardless of what type of scholarship you choose, it is important to apply early.


Diabetes Scholars Foundation


This is a scholarship for high school seniors with type 1 diabetes who are planning on attending an accredited 4-year university, college or trade school. The scholarship amount is $5,000. The deadline for the 2010 to 2011 school year is May 15.

Aimee Melissa Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund


This scholarship is awarded annually to one high school student in the Austin, TX area who has juvenile diabetes, has financial need and has been accepted into college.

Novo Nordisk Donnelly Awards


This scholarship provides two students with a one-time $5,000 award. Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and play tennis competitively or on their school teams.
