Throughout your senior year, you will be getting ready for your graduation. Before you get caught up in the hype of this exciting last year, here are some things that you should keep in mind.
Instructions
1. Decide what you're going to do after graduation. Whether you are going to college, joining the military or making your way in the workforce, you should have an idea of what you are going to do and how you're going to do it.
2. Get your picture taken. Your senior picture will be given to family and friends, plus will appear in the yearbook and maybe even the newspaper. A lot of money doesn't have to be spent on these pictures, but you should have a few to choose from.
3. Get your graduation announcements and open-house invitations. Again, this isn't something that needs a lot of money put into it. There are ways to make it work around a budget, if you have one.
4. Set a date for your party. Graduation parties are an important celebration and rite of passage. You'll need to plan and prepare. Set deadlines for yourself to get everything done.
5. Address and mail out graduation announcements and party invitations. This should be done at least one month prior to the graduation date.
6. Have all your school work in order. Make sure that your records are all set and that you will get your diploma. You might be surprised at the problems that occur during the last month or two of high school, especially if you start to slack off.
7. Get your cap and gown. In most cases, you will get these through the school, but you must order them and pick them up when the time comes. Make sure you are ready for this and you know the dates.
8. Pick out the clothes you will wear during graduation. Of course you will be wearing your cap and gown, but you have to wear something inside of it. Keep in mind that this is a formal affair and that the school dress code will, most likely, apply.
9. Tie up loose ends. Pay off your library fines. Double-check that you have paid your class dues. Return course books if necessary.
10. Get contact information from those you will miss. It's a good idea to keep in touch with teachers, coaches and friends. You will be following your own path, and you never know where it will take you.
