Filling out essays for college scholarships is never fun
Post-secondary education is getting more expensive. CollegeBoard, the group that handles the SAT test, states that in 2009-2010, the average private education is $26,273 a year for tuition and public education at 4-year schools is $7,020 a year. These numbers do not include room and board. Fortunately, there is $168 billion in financial aid available.
Many scholarships require essays from prospective student applicants. Still, scholarships are available that have no such requirement.

The scholarship is open to all high school, college and graduate students, including international students with valid visas. Applicants must be at least 13 years of age. Stuck at Prom
Stuck at Prom is a scholarship that doesn't require an essay, just some creativity, and a photograph. Stuck at Prom is sponsored by Duck brand duct tape. Applicants may only apply as couples. To apply, a couple needs to create complete attire and/or accessories made out of duct tape to wear to their prom. The couple must create all designs, which may not incorporate or be adapted from the designs of any third party. Photographs of the prom outfits must be submitted with the application. The submitted information is uploaded to the Duck brand website for people to vote on the most creative. In 2010, they were giving away 20 scholarships. Couples that attend proms that are after the application deadline will not be considered.
