Apply To Nursing School As An Adult In Canada

The first step to becoming a nurse is finding the right school.

If you live in Canada and are interested in a career as a nurse, you will need to do some research in order find the right school. There are many different programs and degrees available in the field of nursing, so determining the right one for you is the first step. If you do not know where to begin, researching schools and compiling information is one place to start. By using the various resources available to you, you'll be able to find nursing schools in your area.

Instructions

1. Research the programs and schools available in your area. Search through your phone book for contact information for local schools. You may also use online resources such as the online White Pages and the map on the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada website (see the Resources section).

2. Find out whether the schools offer nursing programs. This can be done by visiting a school's official website, calling a school, or even writing a letter. If nursing programs are offered at a school, ask whether an informational packet can be sent to you through the mail. By requesting an informational packet, you will be able to learn the school's policies and admission procedures. You will also likely be given an application for the school.

3. Apply for admission to the schools you are interested in. Usually, you will be given an application when you request information about the school. Many schools have online applications or printable applications. If the school has neither of these things, call the school and request that an application for admission be mailed to you.
