Physical Therapy Schools In Texas

A physical therapist doing her job.

A physical therapist diagnoses and treats people who have health problems that limit their ability to move or perform physical activities. People entering this field need a post-baccalaureate degree from an accredited physical therapy program. Texas has several outstanding physical therapy programs. You must also pass a national exam when you finish your schooling. In order to work in the state of Texas, a graduate must also pass a state exam. Employment in this field is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations.

Angelo State University

The Department of Physical Therapy at Angelo State University has an accredited three-year, entry-level graduate program. Graduates receive a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). Students must start in the summer of their first year. Each class is limited to 20 students. The program offers the Carr Graduate Scholarship, which pays most tuition and fees. The faculty-to-student ratio is about 1 to 8. Almost 99 percent of the students pass the licensure test on the first try and all graduates get a job after they finish this program, according to the university.
