Use Google Scholar Search

Google Scholar is a search engine that allows you to locate scholarly literature, including abstracts, papers and theses from academic publishers, universities, professional societies and preprint repositories. It is especially helpful for students and other researchers who want to limit their searches to the scholarly literature. Follow these steps to use Google Scholar Search.

Instructions

1. Go to the home page for Google Scholar. If you are doing a lot of scholarly research, save this page to your favorites.

2. Set your preferences. Click on Scholar preferences to the right of the search box. This will allow you to set the language you prefer as well as the library where you want to get the book or journal. The library preference box allows you to choose up to three libraries.

3. Type your search term into the box and wait for your results to appear. To the right of each entry, there will be a link with your library's name on it. If you click that link, you will learn how you can get the material at your specific library.
