Getting a 5 on the AP World History Exam is a very hard accomplishment. It is a great goal because that 5 will satisfy a history requirement in college. Hit the books to help ace your AP exam.
Instructions
1. Start over the summer. To get into an AP class, you will have to have registered in the spring. This means that you may have up to six months to learn about World History before you step foot into the classroom. Take this time to learn the grand scheme of history. Read some books and study people and events that you are interested in to prepare you for the fall.
2. Keep up in class. When school starts, it is important that you keep up with all of your readings and assignments. It is ridiculous to think you can learn the history of the world in only one year, but this class will try. Avoid falling behind because most AP classes have daily readings and weekly writing assignments.
3. Understand the timeline of World History. Events are sequential, meaning one event led to another. By looking at the grand scheme of history it makes it easier to remember what happened when and why things happened the way they did.
4. Get some study guides to help you before the test. There are many local tutor options as well as several on the Internet. There are some free websites that give you some insight into the test. It would also not hurt to spend some money on a professional study guide from a reputable company.
5. Watch channels like History International Channel and the Biography Channel. These can help to increase your World History knowledge during your free time.
