Diplomas and certificates are easy to make using Microsoft PowerPoint. You can add pictures, colors, and backgrounds that aren't available with other software. Furthermore, Microsoft gives tips and advice on making professional looking diplomas right from your home. With Microsoft PowerPoint you can make diplomas and certificates for many situations and events.
Instructions
1. Gather the supplies needed for your project. If you've never used PowerPoint before, go to Microsoft.com, click on PowerPoint, and do a quick tutorial. To create these diplomas you must have PowerPoint 2000-2003 editions. More recent editions won't work.
2. Open Microsoft PowerPoint. Click on the "Start" button located on the lower left hand side of your Windows desktop. Click on "Programs," and choose "Microsoft Office," then click on "Microsoft PowerPoint." The program will load, and you're ready to start creating your diplomas.
3. Create a diploma template. You can do this by doing a general search for free-to-use templates online, create your own, or use one available to PowerPoint users at Microsoft.com.
4. Double click on the template. This will load it to your PowerPoint presentation page. Once it's ready you can start customizing it. You can add excitement to your diploma by adding graphics and color, and by modifying fonts used for names and other text. You can scale back the color of your diploma by clicking "Background" in the "Tools" menu in PowerPoint. 5. Add your own logo and pictures by clicking on "Background" and then "Background Fill." Once there click on "Fill Effects," "Picture" tab, "Picture," "OK," and then "Apply." You can embellish your diploma with clip art, your child's photo, or anything you desire through this same technique. Add lettering in the text boxes, and change the color and size by clicking on "Font." Click the "Border" button in the tools menu to change the border and contrast.
6. Print your diploma on card stock. You can print as many of these ask you like. To make different diplomas, certificates or achievement awards just follow the directions above. Sign and date your diploma to make it authentic.
