Get A Girlfriend In 8th Grade

Middle school relationships may not last a long time, but they can still be an exciting and fun learning experience that you'll remember for a lifetime. If you're in eighth grade and looking for a girlfriend, there are some key things to keep in mind before and after you ask a girl out.

Instructions

1. Make sure that you talk to the girl first. If you suddenly ask a girl out and she has to ask, "Who are you?" that's a bad start. Strike up a conversation in-person a few times before you ask her to be your girlfriend, so she can get familiar with you.

2. Check around to confirm she's single. You don't want to ask a girl out if she already has a boyfriend. Casually ask some of your mutual friends about her and fish for information.

3. Compliment the girl you're interested in. Tell her she's funny, cool, nice or that you like her hair or clothes. In eighth grade, many people are just developing their sense of self-esteem and a little compliment - as long as it's genuine - can go a long way.

4. Be nice. For some reason, many guys in eighth grade prefer to tease, annoy and sometimes pick on the girls they like. Even if you think your jokes are innocent and not meant to be mean, you could easily hurt her feelings and ensure she never becomes your girlfriend.

5. Ask her out in a place where you have some privacy. School dances are a great place to ask a girl out - especially if you're slow dancing together at the time. That way, you can ask with a bit of privacy but there's also lots of people around so you both won't feel awkward.

6. Smile if she says yes; be cool if she says no. If your crush says yes when you ask her out, smile to show you're happy with the decision. If she says no, act cool instead of angry or depressed. Say something like, "ok, that's cool; we can still be friends, right?"
