College life is an adventure, a time of experimentation and fun. Unfortunately, many college students spend much of this time worrying about money. To avoid being a broke college student, use the following steps to find ways to make money while in school.
Instructions
1. Take the classic route. Get a job or paid internship. You'll make money and get experience. Adding to your resume will have great benefits in the long run. Employers always prefer hiring students with more than just good grades to show for their efforts.
2. Get funding. Apply for scholarships and grants. Look for fellowships and other programs that assist students with finance.
3. Sell yourself. Personal services are a quick and easy way to make extra money. You could babysit, mow lawns or grocery shop for the elderly. Also, try house sitting, dog walking and car washing. The possibilities are endless.
4. Use your talents. Tutor in your best subjects. If you've got computer skills, you can build websites or fix broken machines. Cut or braid hair. Write resumes or edit papers. Whatever you do well can be profitable.
5. Write. Freelancing is a great way to make extra money. Write greeting cards or web content. Publish articles. Enter contests.
6. Go online. The Internet offers plenty of opportunities to make money in college. Sell things on auction sites; blog; participate in surveys and points programs; become an affiliate marketer; start a home-based business; and/or buy things online and sell them to students above cost. Used textbooks are always in high demand on campus.
