Unique Restaurants In Atlanta

Situated south of the Chattahoochee River in Georgia is Atlanta, the state's capital and one of its major cultural centers. Atlanta is home to major attractions such as the historic Fox Theater and Piedmont Park, the city's largest park and the home of festivals such as the annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival. Visitors to the city will find a variety of unique, locally owned restaurants that can't be found anywhere else.


Tierra


Tierra is a Caribbean and Latin American bistro situated on Piedmont Ave in Atlanta. Tierra is in a bright orange building with a large neon side. The interior contains warm earth colors, large windows and tables topped with crisp white table cloths. As of 2010, it is the only Latin American and Caribbean restaurant in Atlanta. Tierra offers a seasonal menu of changing traditional dishes, with entree items such as grilled trout served with chorizo, sweet pepper sauce and polenta, and seared scallops, prepared with Caribbean curry and egg linguini. Tierra hosts a full bar, and is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday.

Dante's Down the Hatch


Dante's Down the Hatch is a jazz club and fondue restaurant located in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood. The restaurant boasts 13 levels, all contained within an elaborate model ship made up of private cabins and nooks. The interior is filled with antiques and pirate memorabilia, as well as numerous taxidermy crocodiles. The menu primarily consists of communal fondue dinners, with items such as Chinese dumplings, marinated meats and chunky vegetable cuts. Dante's Down the Hatch offers daily jazz and acoustic music, as well as an extensive wine list. As of 2010, the restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week.

TWO Urban Licks


TWO Urban Licks is a New American style restaurant located in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward area. Located in a warehouse, the restaurant centers around its open kitchen, where diners can watch the cooks make wood-fired meats. The restaurant decor has large fabric chandeliers and angular, funky furniture. Diners can also sit outdoors in the patio. TWO Urban Licks offers plates such as the lamb lollipops, served with goat cheese and chile jam, and sea scallops served with gouda cheese grits and tomato broth. As of 2010, it is open for dinner seven days a week and diners can listen to live blues music Tuesdays to Saturdays.
