Sell A Wyndham Timeshare

You may be able to get cash for your Wyndham time-share points.

Purchasing points at a Wyndham time-share resort might have seemed like a good idea at the time you did it, but later you may realize it was a mistake. If you've owned your Wyndham time-share points for a while, you won't be able to cancel the original contract. However, you may be able to sell them, even though you will most likely take a loss. It will take some persistence, but if you price your Wyndham points competitively and advertise them properly, your efforts should eventually pay off.

Instructions

1. Determine the current resale value of your Wyndham time-share points. If you purchased them at retail cost, you will most likely discover that their value is less than what you paid. If you received special benefits that cannot be transferred to a new buyer, this will also affect the value. Check sources such as the Timeshare Users Group and eBay, and look at listings for the same resort at which you own your Wyndham time-share points.

2. Come up with a reasonable price for your Wyndham time-share points based on your research. Build in some room to bargain, since many potential buyers will want to negotiate, but don't price the points so high that you scare off prospective customers.

3. Advertise your Wyndham time-share points in appropriate places. The Timeshare Users Group and eBay are two popular options. You can also advertise them in your local newspaper's classified section, and advertise them in a newspaper near where the Wyndham resort is located. Someone who is staying at the resort and enjoying it might be considering buying points. If they see your ad with a better price than the resort is offering, you may make a sale.

4. Respond immediately to any inquiries. Selling time-share points is very competitive because there are usually so many on the market. If you don't answer a prospective buyer immediately, she may have made a deal with someone else by the time you finally do call her back.

Tips Warnings

If you are having difficulty selling your Wyndham time-share and are not using it yourself, you may be able to rent it out if you price the rental competitively. This will bring you some income for a Wyndham time-share you yourself are not using.

Companies may contact you offering to sell your Wyndham time-share points for a fee. They may even claim to have a buyer, but they will not give you any further information until you pay. The Timeshare Users Groups says that most such offers are worthless. You will give the company money, and they won't find a buyer or give you a refund when you realize they are not actively marketing your points.
