Christian Law Schools

America has many Christian affiliated universities but not all have law programs. Several law schools place a strong emphasis on morality as well as personal responsibility, though they do not use religion to inform their legal outlook or approach.


Pepperdine University


Pepperdine University, in Malibu, California, is a private Christian university with undergraduate and graduate law programs. The American Bar Association approves the school and graduates are eligible to practice in all 50 states.


The university offers three degrees: a Doctor of Laws, an LL.M. in dispute resolution, and a master's degree in dispute resolution. The school places emphasis on teaching high standards in professionalism, ethics, and social responsibility to students. They typically earn an undergraduate certificate in four years, and a graduate degree in two to three years.

Baylor University


Located in Waco, Texas Baylor University is a Christian-affiliated university whose undergraduate and graduate programs including a school of law. As of 2010 it enrolls 400 students a year. The school opened a new, state-of-the-art facility in 2001 with several courtrooms, administrative areas, and a law library. It has several areas of focus for students to choose from, including administrative practice, business litigation, business transactions, criminal practice, estate planning, general civil litigation, and intellectual property. Students receive degrees by completing a broad range of courses, including classes in advanced criminal practices, constitutional law and professional responsibility.

Loyola University


Loyola University, New Orleans', College of Law is a private Christian university and only one of 14 Jesuit law schools in the United States. The law program offers several undergraduate and graduate ,including civil and common law curiccula. Graduate students can take the Juris Doctor (JD) degree, as well as several combined degrees in JD/Master of Administration, JD/ Master of Public Administration, and JD/Master of Urban and Regional Planning. Courses range from factual investigation and counseling, trial practice, and effective communication and negotiation. Students can typically earn an undergraduate certificate in four years before going on to master's graduate and doctorate degrees.
