Geometry deals with calculations regarding shapes and their mass and dimensions.
The ACT exam is taken by high school students in preparation for applying to college. While not every college will require ACT test scores, many will; even if the school does not require the results you can boost your chances of acceptance by still providing them. The ACT exam tests students in the areas of math, English, reading skills and science facts and theories. Studying geometry principles and equations can help your score in the mathematics portion of the exam.
Instructions
1. Read through your geometry textbook, marking the pages with important concepts and highlighting laws and instructions that are helpful.
2. Create flashcards of a variety of geometry concepts to review the basic concepts of geometry, such as the rules, laws and definitions. For example, include the rules of calculating mass or volume of a shape. Draw out the shapes themselves on the flashcards to help with your memorization.
3. Take practice tests online or ask your math instructor to provide you with practice tests and answers to help your review.
4. Time your progress through the practice tests to help develop your time management strategy for the timed ACT exam.
5. Work with physical shapes, such as a round ball or a square or rectangular box, to help visually absorb the geometric concepts.
6. Form a study group to review geometry calculations and rules. This can help you to cover equations you may have overlooked and make the studying more engaging and appealing by working with your peers. Create games or races within your study group to make the learning more fun and active. For example, choose a host for each meeting and ask him to prepare 10 geometry equations for the meeting. The rest of the group then races to see who can finish all 10 problems first and with the most accuracy.
