Montreal Trade Schools

The Montreal skyline

There are benefits to attending a trade school as opposed to attending a traditional college. If you have a particular career in mind, a trade school allows you to focus your education on that career alone, rather than colleges which require more comprehensive coursework. Trade schools offer courses in a variety of fields with an emphasis on hands-on training. If you live in or are relocating to Montreal, there are a number of trade schools in the area.

CDI College

The Montreal campus of CDI College offers programs in business, technology and healthcare. CDI is accredited by The Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) and has been providing diploma education for 30 years. There you can receive training in the following disciplines: early childhood education; financial management; intra-oral dental assistance; legal administrative assistance; medical office assistance; networking and Internet security; nursing assistance; personal support work (such as home healthcare); Internet solutions development; web development; and property and casualty insurance. According to the school's website, "CDI College offers flexible class schedules, supportive instructors, and dedicated employment specialists . . ." Courses include hands-on, "learn-by-doing" instruction, so graduates are ready to work immediately. Study courses range anywhere from seven months up to 17 months.
