Universities That Offer Fashion Design In North Carolina

North Carolina is home to a number of universities offering education that paves the way to a career in fashion design. Students interested in this field may find that their degree could be a bachelor of fine arts degree offered with a concentration in fashion design. A good program teaches the fundamentals of good design including working with color, space and materials.


The Art Institute of Charlotte


Charlotte, North Carolina's largest city, is home to The Art Institute of Charlotte. This eclectic school offers associate and bachelor's degrees in fashion. East Carolina University


The School of Art and Design at East Carolina University in Greenville offers a bachelor of fine arts degree with a concentration in fashion design. Students take a 120-credit-hour curriculum with a variety of basic courses including design, figure drawing and art history. North Carolina State University


North Carolina State University, located in scenic Raleigh, offers a number of design degrees but has a special five-year double-degree program in design and textiles called the Annie Albers Scholars program. This unique program allows students to take courses in hand weaving, dyeing, drawing, printmaking, color and light, and digital imaging. Courses are offered on the operational side of fashion as well, including business management and chemistry for textile applications.
