Swim Lessons/Swim Team
The City of Hawthorne Recreation department offers swim lessons during the summer season. Swim lesson dates and registration are available through the City of Hawthorne website and the information is available at the end of spring.

Family Open Play Basketball
For basketball enthusiasts, there is a family open play basketball program at the Betty Ainsworth Sports Center. The Family Open Play Basketball program is available during various days throughout the week. You can call them at 310-349-1640 the week prior to get date and time information. There is a fee for participants; $1 for ages 16 and up and $.50 for ages 15 and under.

Beach City Rocks
Beach City Rocks is an indoor climbing gym in Hawthorne. They have a variety of summer camps available. You can sign up for a day, a week or for the entire summer. Their indoor camp is for ages 4 and up and includes a variety of climbing including speed climbing and obstacle courses. The outdoor camp is for experienced campers ages 8 and up.
