Pay For A College Education

In order to progress in your chosen field you need at least a BA degree, if not a Masters. The question is get that education without mortgaging your house and spending upwards to $20,000 per semester to some well known universities. Please read below for some helpful information.

1. Research federal programs, FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Register for Grants (Pell Grant), Student Loans, subsidized and unsubsidized.


2. Talk to everyone you know while your child is young, friends, family aunts, uncles, grandparents, brother, sisters and have them register with UPromise. As they make purchases and use their UPromise identification, a portion of what they spend is being deposited into your child’s account.


3. Visit FastWeb and fill in the required data . There are hundreds of associations that offer aid. Review this list and choose the ones that are applicable to you. You can register for up to 10 fields. Encourage your child to become a member of a music program at school.


4. Check with your religious affiliation, many religious organizations have programs that are specifically set aside for the members of their congregation.


5. Check with your Human Resource Office to see if your company provides a financial assistance program for their employees or the children of their employees. Many companies offer this service to you, your family and your children. If you attended a college, check with the sorority or fraternity that you may have been a member of, they offer scholarships.


6. Contact your local Congressmen and Senators, apply early, every Senator and Congressman offers financial aid to students in need, these do not have to be paid back.


7. Google under your state's name, i.e. Maryland scholarships, there are literally thousands of scholarships available.


8. If your child is still attending grades 11 or 12, many senior high schools are working with their local community colleges to offer discounted classes to these exceptional Senior High students. Take the discounted basic courses while still in school--those courses transfer over to an accredited college.








9. Look at on line colleges, they offer on line courses at a discounted price. Talk to the financial aid office at the college, many will assist you in applying for and obtaining scholarships.
