Some of the classes in the program include business communications, health care terminology, word processing, medical transcription and pharmacology. StenoTech Career Institute is a technical/vocational school with two campus locations in New Jersey, Piscataway and Fairfield. StenoTech is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). StenoTech offers a 960-hour medical transcription training program that takes 40 weeks to complete while attending full time. The school also offers part-time and evening schedules. CAI Medical Transcription


CAI Medical Transcription is an independent transcription training company located along New Jersey's coast in Barnegat. CAI offers transcription training in an online program. For those without Internet access, CAI offers an alternate CD/book program. This program consists of 300 hours of training, 100 hours of book work and 200 hours of hands-on training. It takes 6 to 9 months to complete the program. Some of the concepts taught in this program include basic word structure, disease processes, grammar and style, laboratory values and terms pertaining to the body. Graduates will be awarded a certificate of completion after taking a final exam. After passing the final exam, graduates will be given certification, letters of recommendation and references for job placement testing with national companies.
