Install a Scott lawn mower blade.
When you are servicing your Scott lawn mower each year, a good practice is to either sharpen the old mower blade or to install a new one. Sharp mower blades are crucial in order to properly cut the grass. A dull mower blade will beat the grass off rather than cutting it and make it turn brown. You can install a Scott's lawn mower blade with a few supplies and save yourself the service fee.
Instructions
1. Raise the mower deck height handle to the highest setting on Scott rider mowers. Tip Scott push mowers on the side.
2. Wedge the block of wood between the mower blade and the outer edge of the deck to prevent it from spinning while you unscrew it.
3. Fit the proper-sized wrench on the bolt holding the washer, blade-keeper washer and blade onto the blade drive shaft. Unscrew the bolt and keep the washers in order on the bolt. Pull the old blade off.
4. Slide the new blade on the same way the old blade's sharp edges were pointing.
5. Tighten the bolt back into the blade's drive shaft with the washers in the correct order. Use the block of wood again to prevent the blade from spinning as you tighten it.
