Kaplan offers free online practice GMAT test administration.
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test used by graduate schools of business administration and accountancy. Kaplan is an educational company specializing in test preparation courses. After or during preparation courses, students can test their GMAT proficiency before taking the actual test. However, Kaplan practice test scores vary from actual GMAT test scores. It's important to adjust any Kaplan GMAT score in order to have accurate knowledge of estimated test proficiency.
Kaplan Courses
Kaplan offers several courses in GMAT preparation, including On Demand, where students can select which portions of the test they'd like to study, and One-on-One, where students are offered private, specialized tutoring for the GMAT. Kaplan also offers Classroom Anywhere, a program offering GMAT preparation online, and Classrom On-Site which is a program offering in-person test preparation courses.
GMAT Practice
Kaplan offers a free GMAT practice test after registering with its website. The Princeton Review and mba.com, the official website of the company that creates and administers the GMAT, offer practice tests as well. Of the three practice tests, Kaplan uses a tougher scoring algorithm than the actual GMAT, which tends to deflate scores.
Variable Scores
The average composite score achieved by business school applicants is in the upper 600s or lower 700s. Kaplan scores a bit harder than the actual GMAT, allowing applicants to score slightly higher when they take the actual GMAT. Scores on the Kaplan practice test may be as much as 50 points lower than actual GMAT scores.
