Appearex For Hair Growth

Appearex can promote hair growth

There are several products on the market that claim to speed up hair growth or promote thicker, more moisturized hair. It can be a painstaking process to find the right product with the most effective results. Appearex is one product that is used primarily to grow and strengthen nails. However, due to its active ingredient, biotin, it can also improve hair dryness and growth.

Appearex

Appearex is a once-daily vitamin supplement that stimulates the epidermal cells and strengthens keratin. Keratin is the protein structure found in skin, nails and hair, and the active ingredient of Appearex, biotin, promotes increased production of these keratin cells. According to Appearex, a clinical study found 91 percent of individuals experienced improved nail quality after five months of taking 2.5 mg of biotin daily. Results are not permanent if Appearex use is discontinued. Other ingredients of Appearex include lactose monohydrate, cornstarch, providone and magnesium stearate.

Biotin

The amount of biotin in Appearex is 2,500 mcg per tablet. Biotin is a B vitamin and is commonly found in foods such as beans, breads, cauliflower, egg yolks, fish, meat, dairy products and others, though not at a level to have a significant impact on hair, skin or nails. Other names for biotin are bIocytin, vitamin H and coenzyme R. Biotin increases the production of keratin cells and increases the quantity of keratin-matrix proteins in skin, hair and nails.

Biotin for Hair Growth

Biotin is often used as a supplement for people who are experiencing hair loss, and can aid in growing thicker, healthier and longer hair. Biotin can also prevent hair breakage because it increases the elasticity of the hair's cortex. Taking biotin orally can help it enter the blood stream and boost hair growth more effectively. Biotin can also be used to stop hair loss in an individual who is biotin deficient. Biotin deficiency has other signs besides hair loss including brittle fingernails, depression and chronic fatigue.

Taking Biotin

Biotin, in the form of Appearex, can be purchased over the counter at drugstores and large chain stores. Consult a doctor first before taking biotin, if you are taking medicine, pregnant or have high blood pressure or heart and blood vessel disease. Biotin should not be taken more than advised on the bottle. While Biotin can promote healthier skin, hair and nails, the effects will return to their previous state if taking the supplement is discontinued.

Safety and Side Effects

Some side effects of taking biotin include allergic skin reactions and gastrointestinal upset. Other rare symptoms may include breathing problems, tightness in throat and chest, chest pain and skin hives, rash or itchy and swollen skin. If these symptoms arise, it could mean an allergic reaction to the biotin.
