Several campuses in Oklahoma offer security officer training.
Oklahoma has several institutions offering security officer training. Security training includes the use of lethal devices such as firearms, stun guns, night sticks and batons, First Aid, evacuation and emergency procedures, patrol techniques, writing reports and appropriate attitude and conduct. The Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, or CLEET, provides licensing for both armed and unarmed security guards.
Tulsa Tech
Tulsa Tech offers a 1,035-hour criminal justice officer training program at its Peoria campus. Curriculum includes police fundamentals, forensics, criminal investigation, defensive tactics, law enforcement techniques and criminal law. Graduates are ready to take the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training, or CLEET, unarmed security guard licensing exam. The training is also designed to give graduates a a comprehensive skill set for careers in law enforcement, crime scene investigation, legal professions or work as a public or private security officer.

Metro Technology Center
Metro Technology Center offers a 750-hour law enforcement prep program at its Oklahoma City facility, culminating in a CLEET unarmed security guard certification. Training covers police fundamentals, investigation, defensive techniques, criminal law, emergency communications and response, weapons, equipment and professional ethics. Graduates can also take exams for CPR and Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC). Metro Tech is accredited by the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education (OBCTE), and the Oklahoma State Board of Education (OSBE).

Green Country Technology Center
Green Country Technology Center, located in Okmulgee, provides short term security guard training courses in four phases. Phases I and II are combined in a 40-hour program including basic unarmed skills. Phase III, a 38-hour training, focuses on criminal investigation. Phase IV covers armed techniques, including shooting and safety fundamentals, concealed weapons, and 16 hours of firing range training for revolvers or semi-automatic pistols. Green Country Tech is accredited by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
