Remove Dents Easily

Small dents can be removed with a couple of household items.

It's easy getting a dent in your car. But it can be expensive having them removed. So long as the dent is relatively small and there's no damage to the paint, there are do-it-yourself techniques for getting rid of dents. The technique can be applied to dents in appliances or other metal surfaces besides your car. The easiest way to remove a dent in metal is to take advantage of metal's tendency to expand with temperature changes. For this you'll need a can of air duster and a hair dryer.

Instructions

1. Heat the dented area using a hair dryer on high heat for approximately 1 minute.

2. Turn the can of air duster upside down to get out carbon dioxide. Spray the heated area with the intense cold from the can for 10 seconds. This produces a sharp and sudden temperature change. An icy coating should form on the car's surface.

3. Wait for the ice to melt and the temperature change to do its work. The dent should pop out on its own as the ice is melting, leaving behind a wet spot.

4. Wipe off the water left behind with the rag and clean the newly repaired dent. It's that easy.
